Two Annual Training Camps concluded at NCC Training Academy, Nagrota

NAGROTA, July 9: First time, post Operation SINDOOR in which the normal life of general public including NCC Cadets was immensely impacted, 5 J&K Battalion NCC of Poonch recently conducted two eventful Annual Training Camps of ten days each for 1000 NCC Cadets of Poonch and Rajpuri Districts at NCC Training Academy, Nagrota, Parasailing for 125 NCC Cadets at Suchetgarh, Adventure Trek for 400 NCC Cadets to Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh and a preparatory cadre for 75 Ex NCC Cadets of Agniveer and Police entry aspirants. Many eminent personalities visited the Annual Training Camp and motivated and guided the NCC Cadets. Maj Gen Anupinder Bevli, VSM, ADG NCC Directorate JK&L was amongst the first to visit the NCC Cadets and infuse fresh blood in the budding young generation. During his visit he talked and laid emphasis on new learning, instil discipline to achieve goals of life and training to shape as per individual aims. The audience was truly amazed and rejuvenated to keep going, work harder and become the icons of the country. Brig Pranav Mishra, DDG, JK&L Dte & Brig DN Pandey, Group Commander of NCC Jammu Group keenly interacted with the NCC Cadets and guided them to engage in multi-directional approach towards leading a good and successful life. Engineer Chandeep Singh, the first Indian Para Champion at National & International level inspired the NCC Cadets by narrating his challenging life's story and what qualities made him what he is today. The NCC Cadets were at the top of the world to hear what a human is capable to achieve when he or she decides to follow the path of a disciplined goal achiever. RJ Juhie of 92.7 Big FM organised a panel discussion and interaction with the NCC Cadets on UNFOLLOW DRUGS - Say No to Drugs. Shri Joginder Singh, JKPS, SSP Jammu, Ms Pallavi Singh, Director, Programmes JKSPYM, SLCA, J&K, Shri Rohit Abrol, Project Manager, TIPID and Dr Vinay Kumar, Deptt of Social Work, CU, Jammu were the eminent visitors and participants. The NCC Cadets were impacted to never ever even think of touching drugs for fun and maintain only good friends in life who would not derail anyone of them. Sqn Ldr Poonam Yadav, the Vice Principal of Sainik School Nagrota educated the NCC Cadets on the various opportunities to join the Indian Air Force. She inspired the NCC audience with her own special achievements of her career. SKY is the LIMIT was the theme of her talk. The NCC EVEREST GIRL of Ladakh, the amazing Junior Under Officer Miss Abida Afreen with a personal feat of the summit of the 8848 Meters world's highest peak visited the NCC Cadets and shared her journeys key take away points during her preparation. She emphasised NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. The talk sparked 11000 KVA current in the motivation of NCC Cadets. Mrs Surbhi Kohli Bamba, a Life Skill Coach guided the NCC Cadets with innovative and extremely effective ways of thinking and modifying the life and thought process to achieve the greatest heights. The NCC Cadets were also introduced to live training on Drones by Lt Col Tajinder Sharma. 125 NCC Boys and Girls experienced the adventures of Parasailing near the Indian BoP Suchetgarh, RS Pura, just a stone's throw from the international border with Pakistan. It was a life-time thrill of flying in the air. This adventure not only boosted their confidence but also aimed to dispel fears and build mental resilience. The activity underscored the importance of physical fitness, risk-taking and discipline, fostering a sense of achievement that will resonate throughout their lives. 400 NCC Cadets were launched from NCC Training Academy in three batches for Trekking Adventure to Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. The participants trekked each day, visited places of natural beauty, mountains, historical monuments, war memorial, international cricket stadium, ancient religious places, waterfalls and Tea Garden. The NCC Cadets fired from .22 Rifles, played many sports & games, took practical classes on various NCC subjects, health & hygiene, fire-fighting drills, cyber security, self-defence, perfected skills of piloting, military drill & parade, negotiated the Obstacle Course, did YOGA coinciding with the 11th International YOGA Day, physical Training, tent pitching, cultural dance & songs, trekked to Trikuta, witnessed the parade at BoP Suchetgarh, community living and unlimited fun and frolic during the training making new friends for life. Maj Gen Anupinder Bevli met one of the returning trek group of 127 NCC Cadets from Dharamshala and took feedback from the participants. The General Officer inspired them with his insights of developing the NCC Cadets by multipurpose activities organised by the NCC in the UT of J&K and Ladakh.
