| Udhampur police foils 2 more bovine smuggling attempts; 9 bovines rescued | | |

UDHAMPUR, July 9: Case 1 (PP Sudhmahadev):
Reliable information was received at Police Post Sudhmahadev indicating that an unidentified person was transporting 04 bovine animals on foot from Mantalai Kossar towards Kashmir Valley via Sudhmahadev and subjecting them to cruel treatment including beating and whipping.
On reaching Gau Karan, the suspect spotted the police and fled from the spot leaving the bovines behind. All Bovines were rescued.
FIR No. 66/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act stands registered at Police Station Chenani. Investigation is ongoing.
Case 2 (PS Rehambal):
Police team of PP Tikri during traffic naka checking at Tikri Naka, a canter bearing Reg. No. JK14H/0518 coming from Jammu towards Udhampur/Srinagar was stopped for checking.
The driver identified as Ajay Kumar S/O Subash Chander R/O Marothi, Tehsil Chenani, District Udhampur, was found transporting 05 bovine animals cruelly tied with ropes without proper food and water and without any valid permission.
