CRS inspection underway for final commissioning of Araria - Galgalia BG Line Project
7/9/2025 10:20:07 PM
Early Times Report
MALIGAON, July 9: The much-awaited Araria - Galgalia Broad Gauge Line Project, spanning 110.75 kilometres is nearing its final phase with the commencement of statutory inspection by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS). The inspection and commissioning process will begin on 9th July, 2025 and is scheduled to conclude on 11th July, 2025.
This critical inspection marks a key milestone in the completion of the railway project, which aims to significantly enhance rail connectivity and operational efficiency in Bihar and adjoining regions. Once the CRS authorisation is submitted, the route will be ready for safe and full-fledged train operations.
The General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR)/Construction, Shri Arun Kumar Chaudhary had earlier conducted a window trailing inspection, reviewing the overall progress of the infrastructure works. Notably, the sections from Araria-Araria Court-Rahamatpur (8.24 km) and Pawakhali - Thakurganj (23.24 km) were commissioned in April and November 2024 respectively. The final stretch of Rahamatpur - Pawakhali (79.27 km) now awaits commissioning, which will complete the entire corridor.
The Araria - Galgalia project, a flagship infrastructure initiative, involves the construction of 64 major bridges, 264 minor bridges and 15 new railway stations, underlining the engineering scale and complexity of the venture. These components form the operational backbone of the line, ensuring robust connectivity, safety and service efficiency across the region.
With the CRS inspection now underway, the Northeast Frontier Railway looks forward to bringing the full stretch of this strategically important railway line into operational use by the end of 2025, significantly benefiting passengers, freight movement and regional development.
