JAMMU, July 9: In ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025, Sh. Shiv Kumar Sharma (IPS) The Deputy inspector General of Police (DIG) Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range convened a high-level security review/arrangements of Shri Amar Nath Ji Yatra-2025.
During the review check DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma, IPS visit the lodgement centres and Langar's sites of District Jammu, Samba and Kathua. He emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to ensure the safety and security of the pilgrims. He highlighted the need for meticulous planning and execution of security measures to address any potential threats and challenges.
He directed all the officers, special focus given on the security being extended to the pilgrims during enroute, places of stay especially Base Camp, Bhagwati Nagar Jammu and all Lodgement centres and Langer sites. All the officers were exhorted to implement operation third eye in their respective jurisdiction in coordination with other stake-holders for the foolproof security of yatries. During his review check DIG JSK Range also inaugurated Langars in Mahajan Sabha Shalamar of District Jammu, Nonath Ashram, Chichi Mata Ghagwal, of District Samba and Tyagi Baba Langar Mela Morh Hiranagar, Moga Langar in district Kathua (Rajbagh) for the Yatries.
During Security Review of DIG Shiv Kumar of District Jammu, Samba and Kathua all the officers from their concerned units were present and they were directed to remain extra vigilant/extra alert and further directed to their subordinates/nafri deployed for the security of the Yatries and deployed at NHW, were directed to remain extra vigilant on their points.
During the review, DIG Shiv Kumar also interacted with Shri Amarnath Ji Yatries and advised the passengers who travelling in private vehicles to follow the instructions given by the Police and advised them to travel in official convoy for safe and secure journey.
During his review he checked all the enroute Nakas/ Joint Nakas/ QRTs/ROPs/Infiltration routes/Tarnah Nallah/Ujh Nallah/Shaap Nallah/Pandori Nallah/ Bein Nallah/Babbar Nallah/Pangdor Nallah/Koulpur Border area/Phulpur Border area/Mawa border area etc and also met with the VDG members of District Jammu, Samba & Kathua and briefed them about sensitivity of duties and directed to remain extra vigilant. Moreover, all the officers were directed to strengthen all the nakas especially in the border areas as well as in the city during night/wee hours. They were also directed to identify places where more nakas to be established for the security of yatries.
DIG JSK Range stressed the significance of maintaining a high level of vigilance throughout the duration of the Yatra. He instructed the officers to conduct regular reviews and mock drills to ensure that all plans are effectively implemented and proper checking of the vehicles plying on the road, proper checking of the vendors any suspicious activity found should take an immediate necessary action.
During security check of Sh. Amarnath Ji Yatra DIG Sharma instructed the officers to keep proper liaison be maintained with all the intelligence agencies(Army/Para Military forces and other security agencies) in their respective jurisdiction and share the same on real time basis and established more joint nakas for better results.
