Early Times Report JAMMU, July 10: A one-day workshop on Bloom's Taxonomy was successfully conducted on 10 July 2025 at Army Public School Samba, aiming to equip teachers with advanced tools for effective lesson planning, assessment, and student engagement. The session brought together educators from various disciplines to deepen their understanding of cognitive domains and apply them meaningfully in classroom instruction. The workshop began with a keynote address by Ms Seema Abrol, an expert in educational psychology and curriculum development, who emphasized the importance of Bloom's Taxonomy in promoting higher-order thinking skills among students. Through interactive sessions, hands-on activities, and real-time lesson planning exercises, participants explored the six levels of Bloom's cognitive domain - Remember, Understand, Apply, Analyze, Evaluate, and Create - and learned practical strategies to integrate them into their teaching methodologies. Teachers were guided on how to frame learning objectives, design competency-based assessments, and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs. The workshop also included collaborative group tasks that encouraged peer learning and the exchange of best practices. Sanjeev Pradhan, Principal APS Samba, appreciated the initiative, stating, "Workshops like these are instrumental in enhancing the professional competencies of our teachers. Bloom's Taxonomy provides a structured approach to teaching that ensures conceptual clarity and critical thinking in students." The workshop was a resounding success, leaving educators inspired and better equipped to foster deep learning in their classrooms. |
