Field office of Union Ministry of MSME organizes Seminar

JAMMU, July 10: MSME-Development & Facilitation Office the field office of Union Ministry of MSME implements various schemes and activities for the benefit of MSME Sector in Jammu & Kashmir. The activities including Entrepreneurship Awareness Program, Intellectual Property Rights Awareness Program, PM-Vishwakarma Seminar, PM-Vishwakarma Awareness Workshop, Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Program, Management Development Program, Reimbursement of Barcode Expenditure, Reimbursement of Stall Charges, To and From Charges, Advertising Expenditure for participating in 250 exhibition or trade fairs approved by Union Ministry of MSME. MSME DFO Jammu organized a seminar on Procurement & Marketing Support with objectives to increase the awareness about various schemes implemented. As per Public Procurement Policy 2012 twenty five percentages of Goods and services procured by Various Government departments and PSUs are reserved for exclusive purchase from MSEs with sub target of 4% from SC/ST owned MSEs and 3% from Women owned enterprises. These targets are yet to be achieved by few Government departments and PSUs operating in J&K, to achieve this target mission based awareness is needed for the MSEs of J&K and this seminar is a step in this direction. Implementing this policy is very crucial for the social development of J&K for providing employment opportunities of youth of this region.
The programme is organized as per the directions of G.Velladurai IEDS, Joint Director of MSME DFO, Jammu. The following departments namely Handicrafts & Handloom Department, GeM, JKTPO and DIC, Jammu also participated in the programme and delivered lectures through presentation about the schemes and activities of their respective offices and clarified the queries raised by entrepreneurs during the Q&A Sessions. Nazir Ahmad Sheikh JKAS, Director Handicraft & Handloom, Sarth Khoda, Trainer, GeM, DK Tyagi IEDS Assistant Director MSME DFO Jammu are the important dignitaries participated in the seminar. Nazir Ahmad Sheikh JKAS, Director Handicraft & Handloom during his address appreciated the efforts of MSME DFO and suggested to make use of all the schemes of the ministry including PPP 2012.
