Jammu, July 10: A follower of the great 14th-century saint, social reformer, and messenger of equality and brotherhood, Guru Ravidass, and associated with various social organizations, Balbir Ram Rattan, paid respectful homage to Guru Ravidass on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima and reaffirmed his resolve to walk the path shown by him. On the occasion of Guru Purnima, Balbir Ram Rattan offered floral tributes to Guru Ravidass and said that this day is meant to remember the importance of gurus in our lives and to follow their teachings. He said Guru Ravidass rose above caste, religion, and discrimination, and gave the message of serving humanity with love, equality, and hard work. Today, it is necessary that we adopt his ideals in our lives and strive to eradicate the evils prevalent in society.
He said that Guru Purnima is not just a festival but also a day of self-reflection, when we should think about how much of our guru’s teachings are reflected in our conduct. On this day, we must express our gratitude towards our guru and draw new energy from his blessings.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that the thoughts of Guru Ravidass are just as relevant today as they were in his time. His life teaches us that true happiness can only be achieved through hard work and honesty. He showed the way to connect all sections of society and establish harmony.
Balbir urged everyone in society to respect their respective gurus, follow the path shown by them, and spread goodness in society. He said that if we imbibe the teachings of our guru in our conduct, not only will our lives become better, but harmony and peace will also be established in society.
