| 11.65 lakh electors to vote for Anantnag LS seat today | | Polling in 16 segments of Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag districts | | Early Times report Srinagar, Apr 29- Stage is set and all arrangements have been completed for voting tomorrow in Anantnag Parliamentary constituency, which will be the first and the largest among the four constituencies going to polls in Kashmir division. The Election Commission has appointed three Election Observers and 160 Micro Observers to ensure free, fair and transparent elections in this South Kashmir constituency, which is the largest in terms of electorate, number of districts and Assembly segments in Kashmir division. As many as 11.65 lakh electors will decide fate of 13 contestants in Anantnag Parliamentary constituency going to polls in the third phase of the five-phased Lok Sabha elections in the State, along with 106 other constituencies spread over eight states and two Union Territories of the country. Polling has already been held in Jammu and Udhampur Parliamentary constituencies in Jammu division during the first and second phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2009 in the State. For Anantnag Lok Sabha seat, a total of 16 Assembly segments spread over four districts will go to polls with a total electorate of 11, 65,951 including 377 service voters. Polling will be held from 7 a. m. to 5 p. m. tomorrow simultaneously at 1,485 polling stations set up across Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag districts. The campaigning in the constituency, which ended yesterday, has been peaceful and star-studded with several national and state-level leaders addressing a large number of rallies across the constituency. As many as 13 contestants are in fray for Anantnag Parliamentary constituency, which includes three independents. Those contesting election are Dr. Mehboob Baig of the National Conference, Peer Mohammad Hussain of PDP, Bashir Ahmad Malik of ANC, Mohammad Sidiq Khan of BJP, Nisar Ahmad Khan of BSP, Asif Jeelani of All India Forward Bloc, Fayaz Ahmad Bhat of Samajwadi Party, Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie of Indian Justice Party, Mohammad Rafiq Wani of Lok Janshakti, Bashir Ahmad Khan of Rajya Nojawan Shakti Party and. Rajiv Mahajan, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah and Nazir Ahmad Bhat, all independents.
