Reasi police detain 3 drug addicts under preventive action

Reasi, July 12: Continuing its firm action against drug abuse and to maintain public peace and order, Reasi Police today apprehended three habitual offenders and drug addicts under preventive provisions.
The individuals detained are 1. Vakil Chand S/O Mangu Ram, R/O Bakkal, Bhomag, Reasi, 2. Dalip Singh S/O Soba Ram, R/O Bakkal, Bhomag, Reasi 3. Sanjay Kumar S/O Bansi Lal, R/O Ward No. 7, Muslim Mohalla, Reasi.
The trio was found in a suspicious condition and upon verification were found to be chronic drug abusers and habitual offenders. Their activities were posing a threat to the peaceful environment of the area.
Acting swiftly, Police Station Reasi booked all three under sections 129/170 of BNSS (Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita) and initiated preventive detention action to curb their menace.
The entire operation was conducted under the leadership of P/S Katra Insp Khyatimaan Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Katra Dr Bhishm Dubey JKPS and SP Katra Sh Vipan Chandran JKPS.
SSP Reasi Sh Paramvir Singh reiterated that District Police Reasi remains committed to taking tough and sustained action against drug abuse and its spread in society. The public is requested to come forward with any information related to drug peddling or substance abuse and cooperate with police in creating a drug-free Reasi.
