Amarnath Yatra has a positive impact on peace and Tourism
7/14/2025 10:36:20 PM
Omkar Dattatray

There is great need for the revival of tourism, tranquillity, and peace in Jammu and Kashmir read Kashmir post April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack which has resulted in the death of 25 tourists and a local Kashmiri. It also led to the derailment of tourism and tourist economy and 90 percent of tourists had cancelled their bookings and the tourist footfall has considerably decreased. GOI and the JK UT government both are very keen to restore and revive the tourism in Jammu and Kashmir with which the economic welfare of a larger chunk of Jammu and Kashmir population depends. The annual Amarnath jee yatra has commenced and with the arrival of a large number of pilgrim tourists, the tourism has got bearing and it is impacting the tourism, tourist footfall, peace, normalcy and development of union territory. In fact with the arrival of Amarnath pilgrims, other tourists have started to arrive in good numbers thank to the sincere efforts of the centre and Jammu and Kashmir government as well as all those who are directly and indirectly connected with tourist industry. Besides the common Kashmiris are also playing a pivotal role and the tourist economy is being put on the rails again with the active involvement, participation and cooperation of all the stakeholders who like the tourism to get revived and restored so that all those connected with tourist industry are benefitted. The taxi operators, pouniwallas, travel agents, traders, hoteliers, chamber of commerce and industry, houseboat owners, Shakarawallas and all other stakeholders connected indirectly with tourism yearn for the revival and restoration of tourism which got a big setback due to the unfortunate happening of April 22, 2025. With the onset of the annual Amarnath jee pilgrimage, the other tourists are coming in good numbers and it has a positive bearing upon the sagging tourism and all associated with tourism will get benefitted. People of Jammu and Kashmir are warmly embracing, welcoming and facilitating the Amarnathi jee yatries and in turn the Amarnath yatries on the successful religious, spiritual and cultural sojourn will become the brand ambassadors of peace as they will aware the people of India about the affectionate and warm welcome and hospitality of Kashmiri people and will also insist the tourists to come to Jammu and Kashmir in large numbers as tourists. The Amarnath Jee Yatris and other tourists on their return journey to home states will popularise Kashmiri hospitality, supportive attitude and make people in various states aware about the peace and normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir and will impress the people to visit Kashmir in large numbers and enjoy the natural beauty, scenic spots and centres of pilgrimage and have themselves the feel of the paradise on earth that Kashmir has become again after the militancy is on decline there and people are anxiously and eagerly waiting for the arrival of tourists in large numbers like the yester years when the footfall of tourists was at the peak. This significant footfall of tourists was not digested by the enemy country and they send the terrorist to derail the flourishing tourist economy and in this nefarious objective they have become somewhat successful for a very short time as the People of Kashmir with one voice have not only condemned and denounced terrorism but also are playing their role in the revival of tourism in Jammu and Kashmir which saw a temporary setback due to Biararan terrorist attack. Thank God, the situation is limping back to normalcy and slowly and steadily the there is again hustle and bustle of tourists on the roads of Kashmir with the positive and supportive role of Kashmiris and they are not only encouraging the arrival of new tourists but are busy providing all support to tourists and with the involvement and cooperation of Kashmiris, peace has fast returned to Kashmir and tourists have begun to throng tourist spots of Kashmir again after a very brief lull to tourism. Now there is rush of tourists and these guests are seen everywhere and it is a good omen for Kashmir’s tourist economy and tourist industry is getting a big boost thanks to the sincere efforts of the Modi government and UT government and due to double effort of the two governments, the shattered tourism is coming to rails again thanks to the unison efforts of all stakeholders including the chamber of trade and industry. The roads of Jammu and Kashmir are again full with tourists and there is enthusiasm not only among tourists but all those people who are directly or indirectly connected with tourism. People of Jammu and Kashmir value communal harmony and brotherhood the most and it is loved by all the people here and they denounce terrorism and have given a strong message to terrorists that they do not approve their sadistic ways of unleashing terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and they support to government to uproot terrorism lock, stock and barrel. With the active role of the Kashmiris, the tourism is strengthening day by day and terrorism has been eclipsed and with this the tourists have started to throng Jammu and Kashmir in large numbers and the role of all stakeholders including the common Kashmiris has resulted in strengthening tourism and tourism is again flourishing and with the arrival of tourists and pilgrim tourists Kashmir has once again showed to the entire world that Kashmiris condemn and denounce terrorism in strong words and there is no place for terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and people of the UT are cooperating with the government to normalize the volatile situation and peace and tranquillity is again returning to Jammu and Kashmir and with the onset of peace and normalcy, tourism is picking up and the arrival of Amarnath yatries has definitely a positive bearing and impact on tourism and the hospitality, cooperative ,helping and encouraging attitude of the people of Jammu and Kashmir has led to the increase in tourist footfall and in coming days and weeks the tourism will pick up and there will be momentum in tourism and good days for the people of Jammu and Kashmir are certainly coming with the tourism again becoming the mainstay of a large chunk of the population of Jammu and Kashmir which is directly or indirectly connected with tourism. To sum up it is safe to say that Amarnath Jee yatra has opened the doors of peace and ensured the revival and restoration of tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. May Lord Shiva bring peace and prosperity to Jammu and Kashmir. Har Har Mahadev.
