Significant change in RRCP – first chart will now be prepared 8 hours before departure | | | Early Times Report
Bhopal, July 14: Giving priority to passenger convenience and transparency, the Railway Board has implemented major changes in the process of preparing reservation charts. This new system will come into effect in the Bhopal Division from midnight of 15/16 July 2025, under which the first reservation chart of trains will now be prepared 8 hours prior to the scheduled departure. Accordingly, applications for Emergency Quota will also be accepted one day in advance. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Shri Saurabh Kataria informed that earlier, this charting process used to be completed 4 hours before the train’s departure. Now, by preparing the chart 8 hours in advance, passengers with waiting list or RAC tickets will get to know the status of their berth allotment 8 hours before the train’s departure. The new charting schedule is as follows: 1. For trains departing between 5:00 AM and 2:00 PM, the first chart will be prepared by 9:00 PM on the previous day. 2. For trains departing between 2:00 PM and 11:59 PM, or between midnight and 5:00 AM, the first chart will now be prepared 8 hours before departure. 3. There will be no change in the current provisions for the preparation of the second reservation chart. 4. This new system will also be strictly implemented for remote location (distant stations) charting processes. Shri Kataria further stated that the objective of this decision is to improve journey planning so that passengers can know the status of their ticket confirmation well in time. This innovation is expected to enhance passenger satisfaction. |
