Early Times Report JAMMU, July 14: The Jammu and Kashmir UT Youth Powerlifting Association successfully conducted a high-energy selection trial at Master Fitness Press Club Jammu. The event witnessed over 40 young and dynamic athletes competing fiercely in full powerlifting, bench press, and deadlift categories. With the upcoming National Powerlifting Championship scheduled in Gujarat from August 1st to 3rd, the trial served as a crucial platform to select top-performing athletes to represent Jammu and Kashmir on the national stage. Both boys and girls displayed exceptional power, technique, and sportsmanship throughout the competition, making the event an electrifying experience for all attendees. After a rigorous selection process, 28 boys and 3 girls were chosen to participate in the national championship. Selected Athletes: Boys: Deep Kumar, Kundan, Suryadev, Nitin Kesar, Krish Saini, Mayank Pandit, Mohit Rana, Dheeraj, Abrar Malik, Atul Sharma, Vijay Kumar, Akrish Singh, Keshav, Ankush, Vasu Kumar, Nitin Sharma, Gurbaksh, Azad Karan, Harjinder Singh, Abhimanyu Saini, Ankit Mahajan, Parveen Kumar, Varun Singh, Sumit Thakyal, Sameer, Gulshan Kumar, Abhit Chib & Vipul Sharma. Girls: Prerna, Soniya, and Palak. The event was graced by the presence of several key officials including Narendra Singh, Iqbal Singh, Sahil Anand, Shailendra Chadak, and Sunil Kumar, who played a pivotal role in encouraging the athletes. Additionally, the event's success was driven by the tireless efforts of Vipul Sharma, Abhimanyu, Insaaf Thapa, and Ankit Mahajan, who ensured smooth execution of the trials. The selected athletes are now set to shine on the national platform and bring laurels to Jammu and Kashmir. |
