| Reasi police nabs drug peddler; 509.930 grams of cannabis recovered | | |  Early Times Report
REASI, July 15: Continuing its firm action against drug peddling in the holy town of Katra, today at around 1100 hours, a police team deployed at Ban Ganga Katra intercepted a suspicious individual riding a motorcycle bearing registration number JK06C-3907, coming from Katra side towards Ban Ganga.
During the routine checking, the individual was stopped and questioned by the alert police party. He identified himself as Vikram Bandral S/O Sh. Hans Raj R/O Main Chowk Tikri, Udhampur, presently residing at SMVD Track, Purana Daroor, Ban Ganga, Katra.
Upon thorough search of his belongings, one black-colored polythene bag containing approximately 509.930 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 201/2025 under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation is underway to unearth forward and backward links of the narcotics network.
The entire operation was conducted under the leadership of SHO P/S Katra Insp. Khyatimaan Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Chandran-JKPS.
District Police Reasi under the leadership of SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh-JKPS is committed to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society and ensure the sanctity of the holy town remains intact.
