Registrar BGSBU reviews development projects

RAJOURI, July 16: Registrar Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) Abhishek Sharma conducted a detailed review of ongoing and proposed development initiatives aimed at enhancing infrastructure and student amenities within the university campus.
During the inspection, the Registrar visited the faculty quarters and the guest house, directing concerned officials to initiate renovation works to upgrade facilities. He also inspected the Day Care Centre and instructed for the provision of sports equipment for holistic development of children availing the facility.
In a significant move to boost accommodation for female students, the Registrar gave directions for the construction of a dedicated Girls' Hostel for the Nursing College, keeping in view the growing demand and need for secure residential facilities.
Further, he emphasized on campus beautification, particularly the fountain gate area, and called for the installation of signage across the campus for better navigation. He also proposed the renaming of a prominent chowk within the campus in honour of Brigadier Mohammad Usman, recognizing his supreme sacrifice and contribution to the nation.
The Registrar also suggested exploring possibilities for creating a Children's Park and a Trekking Track to promote recreational activities among students and families residing on the campus. As part of safety and surveillance measures, instructions were issued for the installation of sufficient number of CCTV cameras and street lights to ensure a secure environment.
The visit also included an inspection of the proposed site for the construction of an indoor stadium, with facilities to support sports like shooting, olympic-level disciplines and archery.
Registrar Abhishek Sharma was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer Maqsood Ahmed, Dr. Pervez Alam, Dr. Shams Kamal Anjum, Dr. Titi Xavier and Joint Registrar Qasim Kohli during the visit.
