KPs allege use of force against protesters

Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 30- Various political and social organizations have condemned the use of force against the KP Protestants who were protesting against the deletion of community votes from electoral rolls.
President United Kashmiriyat Forum, Bharat Raina said that the shameful act establishes the fact that there is a deep rooted conspiracy to uproot the KP community from its motherland completely.
Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch while condemning the use of force against peaceful protestors at Muthi Jammu said that the government was dead bent to cause all sorts of excesses to a politically marginalized community. The Manch has also demanded immediate action against the police officials responsible for using force.
It has also asked Election Commission to take immediate steps to fulfill its promises of restoring the right to franchise to the displaced community without any further delay. Bhartia Janta Party State Spokesperson Ramesh Arora condemned unprovoked lathi-charge by police on Kashmiri Hindu migrants. He said that they were demonstrating peacefully over deletion of their names from voter lists and using force against them was always senseless.
He said that arrest of four migrants and shifting to unknown destination, reflects improper handling of the situation adding that it was unwanted, unethical and undemocratic act.
Earlier in the day the Protestants held a sit-in outside Muthi polling booth in Jammu to attract the attention of concerned authorities towards the de-frenchization of the single largest minority of Kashmir.
Even after the argument of Protestants that they were not against process of voting and they purely wanted to vote- but due to cumbersome process, the community stands debarred from the right to choose the representative of their choice, the police cops on duty resorted to cane charge, injuring many. The police also arrested some youth from the spot.
