Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 18: In a gesture that celebrates community pride and police public harmony, Jammu Police today dedicated a vibrant Selfie Point featuring the message I LOVE AKHNOOR near Punnu Chowk on Akhnoor Jourian Road. The initiative comes shortly after Akhnoor Police Station was awarded a Certificate of Excellence by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), recognizing it as one of the best performing police stations in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The selfie point was formally inaugurated by SP Rural Jammu, Sh.Brijesh Sharma, JKPS, accompanied by SDPO Akhnoor Sh.Variender Gupta and SHO Akhnoor, Insp. Sanjeev Chib
The event also witnessed the gracious presence of MLA Akhnoor, Sh. Mohan Lal Bhagat, along with several prominent personalities and local residents.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Brijesh Sharma said, "This is not just a structure for photos, but a symbol of the deep bond and mutual respect between the Jammu Police and the people of Akhnoor. It stands as a tribute to our recent recognition and a thank-you to the public whose cooperation made it possible."
MLA Mohan Lal Bhagat lauded the initiative, describing it as "an innovative and heartfelt step by the Jammu Police that reflects a new era of community engagement and pride in Akhnoor."
It is worth mentioning that just a few days ago, Akhnoor Police also dedicated a volleyball ground with night-play facilities to Ambaran Panchayat, further underlining their commitment to youth engagement and community development. Both of these public-oriented projects are credited to the proactive leadership of SHO Akhnoor.
With initiatives like these, the Jammu Police continues to redefine policing by blending security with community-driven development and public trust.
