Early Times Report
DODA, July 19: To commemorate five years of the successful implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Doda organized a one-day seminar on the theme "Prospects and Challenges of NEP 2020."
The event brought together principals and headmasters from across the district to review progress, exchange insights, and strategize future implementation pathways under the transformative policy framework.
The Chief Education Officer Doda, Mohammad Hafiz attended as the Chief Guest and delivered the keynote address. He highlighted the major milestones achieved during the five-year implementation period, particularly in key areas such as Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), vocational education, inclusive and equitable learning, teacher empowerment, and digital education.
Hafiz also elaborated on the strategic initiatives undertaken by the CEO's office and presented a future roadmap aligned with NEP goals. He openly addressed the persistent challenges-including infrastructural limitations and capacity gaps-and called upon principals and headmasters to actively cooperate with higher authorities and take ownership of the policy's grassroots execution.
Principal DIET Doda, Rajesh Kumar presided over the proceedings and underscored the need for institutional readiness, sustained professional development, and locally-driven planning to translate NEP 2020's vision into effective outcomes within schools.
The seminar featured detailed presentations by the resource persons Anjeel Singh Thakur, Principal, HSS Berarru, Dr. Charanjeet, Principal, HSS Bharath, Surjeet Singh, Principal, HSS Sinoo, Surinder Singh, Principal, HSS Girls Doda and Suhail Raja, Teacher HSS Jodhpur
The speakers provided a comprehensive overview of the policy's implementation across various domains and reflected on both the opportunities and hurdles encountered at the school level. The use of structured presentations and data-driven insights added depth to the discussions.
The event was meticulously coordinated by Senior Lecturer, DIET Doda, Zakir Hussain whose efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the seminar and meaningful engagement among the participants.
The deliberations centered around critical themes of NEP 2020, including foundational literacy and numeracy, experiential and competency-based learning, vocational integration, inclusive education practices, and teacher training reform. Attendees shared ground-level experiences and perspectives, highlighting the need for curriculum realignment, digital infrastructure and enhanced capacity-building efforts.
The seminar concluded with a collective resolve to strengthen the implementation mechanisms and build momentum toward achieving NEP 2020's long-term educational vision. The gathering not only celebrated five years of policy progress but also reaffirmed the commitment of educational leaders across District Doda to drive sustainable and inclusive transformation in the education system.
