Early Times Report
LUCKNOW, July 19: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is actively working to protect the rights of Divyangjans and ensure quick access to justice. As part of this commitment, mobile courts headed by the State Commissioner for Divyangjans are being organized across various districts in the state. These mobile courts have so far resolved 677 complaints on the spot, providing timely relief to Divyangjans. The courts have been held in several districts including Meerut, Sultanpur, Amethi, Ayodhya, Barabanki, Shravasti, Gonda, Bahraich, and Balrampur. During these sessions, authorities listen to grievances directly in the local areas and issue immediate instructions to concerned departments for resolution. This initiative has spared many Divyangjans from the hassle of repeatedly visiting government offices. The Uttar Pradesh government has clearly defined administrative responsibilities to ensure quick resolution of complaints related to Divyangjans. Under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities has been appointed, and all District Magistrates are designated as Additional Commissioners, while District Empowerment Officers for the Disabled serve as Assistant Commissioners. This structure has made local monitoring and resolution of complaints more effective. So far, mobile courts have been held in 9 districts, where 677 complaints have been resolved on the spot. In the financial year 2024-25, the State Commissioner's office received 503 complaints, and in 2025-26 (so far), 91 complaints have been registered. Out of these, 58 have been resolved and 33 are under process. According to data from the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities up to May 2025, a total of 2,699 complaints were received via the CM Helpline, online portals, PGI portal, and CM references, out of which 2,660 have been resolved. Only 39 complaints remain pending, but none of them have crossed the deadline, reflecting the Yogi government's commitment to addressing the concerns of Divyangjans.
