| MIER organizes annual prize distribution function | | |

Jammu, Apr 30- In a small but impressive function the management of Model Academy Jammu, organized its annual prize distribution function to honor the meritorious students who had excelled in the annual examinations, the results for which were declared recently.
Dr. Arun K. Gupta Chairman MIER group of Institutions was the Chief Guest on this occasion and Dr. Renu Gupta Director MIER was the Guest of Honour. Other dignitaries present in the function included Dr. Adit Gupta Joint Director and Principal Model Academy, Rupa Gupta Principal (RR Wing), Dr. Surinder Kour, Administrator College of Education and Usha Gadoo, Vice Principal. The esteemed parents of the meritorious students who were being awarded were also present along with faculty members of the school.
Dr. Adit Gupta in his welcome address informed that in the annual results declared recently, all the students of Model Academy performed exceedingly well and even improved upon their previous record by showing 100% result in all the classes from 1st to 9th. He very enthusiastically disclosed that students in the 8th class DIET examination bagged 4 positions in Jammu District amidst thunderous applause.
Dr. Arun K. Gupta accompanied by Dr. Renu Gupta, Dr. Adit Gupta and Rupa Gupta gave prizes to all the students who had secured positions in annual examinations during 2008-09 session, in presence of their parents amidst loud cheers. The young achievers were full of enthusiasm while receiving the prizes. At the same time, the faculty members who made outstanding efforts in the performance of their professional duties were also honoured.
Dr. Arun K. Gupta in his address proudly mentioned that MIER during its chequered history of more than seven decades has produced a large number of alumni who have held key posts in various fields in the country. He also said that model Academy is the only school in Jammu which has been certified according to ISO 9001-2000 standards for the last 5 years. He reiterated the determination of the Management of MIER to make the school one of the best Centres of learning. He praised the students who by the dint of their hard work got high positions and fulfilled the expectations of their parents and also brought laurels to their school. He also appreciated the role of the parents for giving full cooperation to the school management. He further thanked the Principal and other teaching staff for serving this institute with full dedication.
Dr Renu Gupta Director MIER blessed the students for showing excellent performance in the annual examinations, especially to the 8th class position holders.
The students on this occasion presented a colourful programme which was enjoyed by all the guests and parents who were present in the function.
