Govt. Degree College Vijaypur organizes Plantation Drive

Samba, July 21; Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan Committee of Government Degree College, Vijaypur organized a plantation drive in conjunction with NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of the college- a drive to combat drug abuse. The drive was organized under the able guidance of the Principal of the college, Dr. Ashu Vashisht. The event, part of a broader effort was to promote a drug-free lifestyle which involved students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff and encouraged them in planting trees for a sustainable environment. The initiative was aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and encourage a healthy, drug-free environment.
The plantation drive was specifically organized under the "Anti-Drug/Nasha Mukt" campaign, which encourages planting trees as a mean to divert students from drugs to health and environment.
This campaign, coinciding with the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, highlights the interconnectedness of environmental protection and community well-being. The participation of various stakeholders, including the NSS unit, college non-teaching members, emphasizes the collective responsibility in creating a greener and healthier future. Such type of drives, aimed to engage the youth and foster a positive and supportive environment within the youth of our society.
The event was organized with full support of senior faculty members of the college namely Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD Political Science), Prof. Mamta Gupta (HOD Commerce), Prof. Ritu Bhagat (HOD Education) and Dr. Arti Sharma (HOD EVS). The event was coordinated/organised by Dr. Anoop Kumar Bhagat (HOD Sociology and Nodal Officer, Nasha Mukt Abhiyan Committee), Dr. Manoj Heer (HOD Dogri) and Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (HOD English and NSS PO).
