Protesting KP voters beaten up, 2 injured

Jammu, April 30: Over 300 activists of Jammu and Kashmir Nationalist Movement, All India Kashmiri Samaj and Jammu and Kashmir National United Front demonstrated outside a polling booth in Jammu to protest deletion of names of pandits from the voter list. Two persons were injured as police resorted to lathicharge.
In a bizarre incident which occurred at KP’s polling booth at Director School Education office in Muthi suburbs when KP voters turn furious on watching their names missing from the voter lists despite filling of M-forms. Later workers of Jammu and Kashmir Nationalist Front (JKNF) came out in a shape of protest and burnt the effigy of the Election Commissioner of India (ECI).
Reacting to workers of JKNF workers, police started beating all people came out for casting their votes were beaten seriously while four people namely Surinder, Sunil, Amit and Surinder were taken into the custody by Police to Police Station Domana. Police has lodged an FIR u/s 109, 353, 147,138, RPA against these persons.
Kashmiri Pandits have taken strong exceptions of the move by ECI in which it has been made mandatory for all migrant voters to fill M-forms. Convenor Panun Kashmir (PK) Dr. Agni Shekhar condemning the police brutality on Pandit voters said that earlier homes and hearts of KPs were snatched then temples and now votes are being snatched. He said that silent protest against unlawful and inhumane activities by ECI will be demonstrated on 3rd May at 5 Prithviraj Road New-Delhi.
“There was nothing like to launch cane charging as voters were talking to one another regarding the non existing of names in voter lists, but police instead of beating workers of JKNF started beating brutally to one and all” said Rakesh Kaul an eye witness. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Vichar Manch, Panun Kashmir, All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference and all other frontal organization of KPs have condemned the police brutality over innocent KP voters.
