| JMC evicts contractors from Jambu Lochan, Ambedkar community hall | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 1: The Jammu Municipal Corporation evicted the contractors from the Jambu Lochan Community Hall at Mohalla Ustad and Ambedkar Community Halll at Resham Ghar Colony after getting the judgement from the Court of Law in the case, for default of payment amounting to Rs 14.85 lacs and Rs 8.75 lacs respectively. As per a release, the Corporation had leased out these community hall to M/s Pt. Sita Ram Madan Lal R/o Toll Post Nagrota after inviting tenders for a period of five years at a yearly payment of licence fee amounting to Rs 14.85 lacs for Jambu Lochan Community Hall and 8.75 lacs for Ambedkar Communitu Hall. However, after the expiry of one year the contractor instead of making due payment defaulted and obtained a stay order from the Court. The Corportion persued the case vigorously and the case was decided in favour of Corporation and today a team of enforcement wing led by Satish Khajuria, Chief Enforcement Officer and Police team from Police Station Pacca Danga alongwith Magistrate evicted the representatives of the firm and took possession of both these community halls. The Municipal Commissioner Mubarak Singh has issued strict instructions to the Enforcement Wing of JMC to collect the revnue from all allottees/ licences and take appropriate action against the defaulters who are not paying fee on regular basis. He further directed that a list of all such tax payees/ allottees be framed and the fee may be recovered from them alongwith penal interest the release added.
