46 tonnes of paper loaded for Ajra from Kathua Railway Station of Jammu Division | | |  early times report
Jammu, July 24: After the formation of Jammu Division in Northern Railway, many commendable works have been done under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Shri Vivek Kumar as well as under the leadership of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Shri Uchit Singhal. In which there is freight transportation along with passenger safety. Starting this freight transportation, under the leadership of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Shri Uchit Singhal, on 31 May 2025, cherries were loaded in Parcel One in train number 12472 and transported from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Bandra Terminus. With this initiative, not only the goods of the fruit producers reached their destination on time, but also proved to be a big source of income for the division. With this, moving forward in sequence, on 23rd July 2025, a BCN wagon carrying 627 paper bundles and 24 paper rolls was loaded from Kathua railway station of the division to Ajara railway station of Rangia division in Guwahati, Northeast Frontier Railway, Assam. Whose total weight was 46 tonnes. Which is an important step for goods transportation. The business class is being encouraged to promote goods transport in Jammu division and meetings are being held from time to time by the officials of the division. Promoting this goods transport will increase the income of the railways and the state and will create new employment opportunities for the local people. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of the division, Mr. Uchit Singhal said that such initiatives will increase the freight capacity of Jammu division and ensure smooth movement of goods across the country and strengthen the infrastructure of the railways.
