DC Reasi reviews arrangements for I-Day celebrations

REASI, July 24: To finalise the arrangements for the smooth and successful celebration of Independence Day 2025, a meeting of district officers from various departments was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex.
The meeting was attended by heads of the line departments and focused on ensuring the seamless execution of the upcoming national event. It was decided that the main function will be held at General Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium. The celebration will begin with the unfurling of the National Flag by the chief guest, followed by a ceremonial march past by contingents from the District Police, CRPF, NCC and students from various schools.
After detailed discussions, the Deputy Commissioner issued directives regarding seating arrangements, barricading, security, traffic management, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, transport, distribution of prizes, illumination of government buildings, first aid, PAS (Public Address System), fire tenders and other logistical aspects.
She instructed all officers to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time to facilitate smooth and spirited celebrations.
In addition to the parade, school children will present cultural programmes showcasing the rich heritage of the state and the country. Various committees have been constituted to oversee the arrangements and coordinate efforts across departments.
The Deputy Commissioner also stressed the importance of illuminating all government and heritage buildings to enhance the festive atmosphere. She directed all officers to finalise preparations promptly. Additionally, she instructed all Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) to convene meetings and make similar arrangements for Independence Day celebrations in their respective sub-divisions.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, SSP IRP 1st Battalion Anita Sharma, ADC Rakesh Kumar, Addl. SP Ifthikar Ahmed, CPO Narinder Kumar, ACD, XENs of JPDCL and Jal Shakti, Tehsildars of Reasi and Bhomag, DIO (Info) and SDMs who joined the meeting virtually.
