RAMBAN, July 24: In a collaborative effort to promote rural entrepreneurship and financial inclusion, SBI Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) Ramban, in association with the 23 Rashtriya Rifles (Indian Army), organized a mega awareness camp today at Khari, Block Khari, District Ramban. The program aimed to educate the local youth and community members about the importance of self-employment, available training facilities at SBI RSETI Ramban, and various Government Sponsored Schemes that can help individuals become financially independent. Amrik Singh Raju, Senior Faculty of SBI RSETI Ramban, conducted an informative session in which he explained the concept of self-employment and its potential to generate sustainable income, especially in rural areas. Detailed the free skill development training programs being conducted at RSETI Ramban including trades like Tailoring, Computer Training, Two-Wheeler Repairing, House Wiring, Agri-based Trainings and others. Informed the audience about Central and UT Government Sponsored Schemes such as: PMEGP (Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme) JKREGP (Jammu & Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme) MUDRA Yojana (Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency) He also provided awareness on social security schemes meant to safeguard the interests of the rural population, such as: PMSBY (Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana), PMJJBY (Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana), APY (Atal Pension Yojana). The event witnessed the presence of prominent citizens and local influencers including Molvi Sahib (Muslim priest), Lambardar, and the President of Bopar Mandal, who appreciated the outreach efforts and acknowledged the need for such awareness initiatives in interior areas like Khari. Addressing the gathering, the Molvi Sahib lauded the initiative and committed to spreading the message of today’s program to every household in the Panchayat, ensuring that no eligible person is left behind from accessing these welfare schemes. Speaking on the occasion, Lt. Colonel Sharief Khan, Co of 23 RR, emphasized the significance of self-employment in strengthening rural livelihoods and national unity. He encouraged the local youth to utilize the training and financial assistance provided under these schemes to build a secure and independent future. |
