DC Doda reviews functioning of Revenue Department

DODA, July 24: To assess the functioning of the Revenue Department, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda Harvinder Singh today chaired a review meeting here in his Office. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), ADC Bhaderwah, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) a, Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) of Gandoh and Assar, Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and other senior officials of the Revenue Department.
The deliberations included a detailed review of the status of digitization of land records, eviction of encroachments on the state land, updation of Jamabandis and Girdawaris, implementation of Svamitva Scheme, revenue court case management, progress under the Forest Rights Act (FRA) and implementation of online revenue services. The status of ongoing infrastructure works at various Tehsil headquarters and Niabats were also reviewed in detail. Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars from across the district presented their respective progress reports and outlined field-level challenges affecting timely completion of assigned tasks.
Highlighting the pivotal role of revenue officers in governance, the DC emphasized that maintaining updated and error-free revenue records is crucial for effective administration. He noted that delays or discrepancies in land records not only obstruct development projects but also cause undue hardship to the general public.
