SHOPIAN, July 24: In a significant step towards raising awareness on gender equality and the importance of valuing the girl child, Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti Shopian, organized an impactful awareness programme under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative today at Govt Middle School Devpora Shopian.
The event commenced with a pledge ceremony, where students and staff vowed to uphold the dignity and rights of girls in society. This was followed by a sticker pasting activity, symbolizing support and collective responsibility toward the cause.
Speeches were delivered by the officials of Sankalp Hub, staff, and students emphasizing the need to educate, respect, and empower the girl child.
As part of the campaign, informative pamphlets carrying motivational messages about the value and rights of the girl child were also distributed among participants.
The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of the Principal, school staff members, and students, all of whom contributed to making the event a success.
