Akhnoor, July 27: Senior BJP leader and District Development Council (DDC) member, Pandit Suresh Sharma, conducted a comprehensive public outreach programme across the remote areas of Block Maira Mandrian, visiting Queer, Kathar, and Gharatal Panchayats. Accompanied by senior administrative and departmental officials, Sharma held Janata Darbars to directly engage with residents and assess the impact of recent heavy rains and floods. During the interactive sessions, locals shared a range of pressing issues, particularly related to the Jal Shakti Department, Power Development Department, PWD, and the Flood Control Department. Residents highlighted severe damage to roads, public infrastructure, and private homes due to relentless rainfall. Sharma listened to the concerns with empathy and urgency, and issued on-the-spot instructions to the concerned departments for immediate redressal. He emphasized swift restoration of connectivity, repair of damaged infrastructure, and adequate compensation for affected families. Speaking to the public, Suresh Sharma assured, “Every voice matters. We are fully committed to ensuring that no one suffers due to this natural calamity. We are actively coordinating with the administration to provide timely relief and lasting solutions.” Later, he undertook ground inspections of flood-hit areas, evaluating road washouts, land erosion, and water ingress into homes. He instructed field officials to maintain constant communication with residents and act promptly. Sharma reiterated his commitment to transparent governance, efficient service delivery, and grassroots-level participation in development and disaster recovery. The outreach program witnessed the presence of senior officials from various departments and enthusiastic participation from local communities.
