Asmita Cycling League Jammu empowers women Cyclists

Jammu, July 27: The Cycling Association of Jammu and Kashmir successfully organized the Asmita Cycling League – Jammu Edition at the prestigious M.A. Stadium, Jammu. The event saw an overwhelming participation of over 40 women cyclists, showcasing the growing interest and talent among women in the field of cycling in Jammu and Kashmir.The event was held under the broader vision and initiatives of the Ministry of Youth Services and Sports, Government of India, the Sports Authority of India (SAI), and the Cycling Federation of India (CFI), aimed at promoting women empowerment through sports.
The competition witnessed high-octane performances by young women in two age categories: 19 & Above Category :Dr. Ritu Ahal – 1st Place,Anu Talwar – 2nd Place,Singh Sonia – 3rd Place.17 & 18 Age Category:Bhoomi Dogra – 1st Place,Bhavya Kotwal – 2nd Place,Maheen Thakur – 3rd Place.
The event was graced by Ms. Aneesha Nabi, Chief Sports Officer, J&K Sports Council, as the Chief Guest, and Tej Pal Kour, International Gymnast Medalist, as the Guest of Honour. Vijay Saraf, President, Wushu Association of J&K, was a special invitee who flagged off the race.
Dr. Vikesh Kumar, President of the Commissioner Panel (PCP), nominated by the Cycling Federation of India, supervised the competition to ensure that it was conducted strictly as per the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) rules and standards.The Chief Guest and Chairman of the Cycling Association of Jammu and Kashmir inspired and motivated young and budding cyclists to adopt cycling as a regular part of life, emphasizing its benefits for physical fitness and an eco-friendly lifestyle.
The organizing committee of the Cycling Association of J&K included Chairman Ravinder Singh,President Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn,General Secretary Om Prakash,Treasurer Tajinder Singh,Vice President Balvinder Singh,Joint Secretary Rajesh Sharma,S.S. Gill (CEM),Sunil Sharma,Ravi Salgotra (CEO),Ajay Sharma.The Asmita Cycling League Jammu was a grand success, reflecting a broader national movement towards inclusive and empowered sports culture. The Cycling Association of J&K expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, volunteers, and partnering organizations for making the event a success.
