Director Health Services Jammu, and Dr Anil Manhas, Chief Medical Officer Udhampur, yesterday conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Ramnagar. During the visit, the team interacted extensively with doctors, paramedical staff, hospital employees, patients, and members of the local community to understand the pressing issues faced by the hospital. Dr. Bhardwaj raised serious concerns over the acute shortage of doctors, paramedical staff, and supporting personnel in the hospital. He also flagged the irregular attendance of some doctors and underscored the urgent need for improvement in infrastructure and service delivery. The Director Health Services, after inspecting every section of the hospital alongside Dr. Bhardwaj, took note of critical deficiencies including the shortage of oxygen pipelines, lack of essential equipment like an X-ray printer, incubator, and other vital apparatus. Local citizens also highlighted the same issues while interacting with the visiting dignitaries and demanded early redressal of these long-pending concerns. The visit was aimed at identifying systemic shortcomings in the hospital’s functioning and infrastructure. The Director Health Services, accompanied by the CMO Udhampur and other officials, personally examined hospital records and visited every department. The officials assured that necessary steps will be taken at the earliest to address the manpower shortage and upgrade the hospital’s infrastructure to ensure better healthcare services to the people of the region. The inspection lasted over two hours and reflected a firm commitment by both the MLA and the Health Department to revamp healthcare delivery in Ramnagar. BMO Ramnagar was also present on the occasion.
