| One arrested with 10 rolls of hazardous Gattu thread | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 27: In a significant action against the illegal sale of hazardous gattu thread, Police Station Janipur today arrested one person involved in its possession and sale. The accused namely Bajinder singh son of bikram Singh resident of karan nagar Jammu was apprehended with 10 rolls of banned gattu thread, which is notorious for causing serious injuries and even fatalities during kite flying. The accused was using a new modus operandi - selling gattu thread through mobile-based orders and delivering it discreetly to customers, avoiding public attention and police checkpoints.
The public is hereby cautioned against the use and possession of gattu thread, which is strictly prohibited by law due to its metallic or synthetic coating that poses grave risks to humans and animals, especially during the kite-flying season.

Do not buy or use gattu thread.
Report any sale or stock of such material to your nearest police station.
Parents are requested to monitor children during kite flying.
Use only safe, cotton-based thread to avoid accidents.
