Leopard kills woman at Ganiah

NOWSHERA SEPT-23-A woman lost her life when attacked by a Leopard in village Ganiah of Rajouri district today.
According to reports a middle-aged woman Krishna Devi wife of Chandi Lal of Ganiah Nowshera had gone to the fields to collect grass for her cattle. While she was busy with the work, a Leopard appeared on the spot and jumped on the woman. Though she raised an alarm but it was of no avail as the Leopard had done his work till then. Leaving the woman wounded and in pool of blood, the Leopard fled from the spot.
On seeing the woman in pool of blood, the villagers informed the Police and in the meantime the woman succumbed to her injuries.
A police party accompanied by the officials of Wild Life Protection Department rushed to the spot and started search for the Leopard but till last reports came in no success was achieved in tracing out the animal.
The body of the deceased was shifted to Hospital for postmortem and later handed over to her family members for last rites.
