Karra announces fresh schedule of protests , hunger strike for statehood

Jammu, July 28 - JKPCC President Shri Tariq Hameed Karra today announced fresh schedule of protests, hunger strike and outreach programmes to intensify the statehood movement of the party ,after successful conduct of its Delhi chalo programme.
Addressing a press conference at PCC HQ Jammu today, JKPCC Chief disclosed that party shall hold peaceful protest dharna at Jammu, Srinagar and all Districts of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5th ,the sixth anniversary of the downgrading of the state. It shall be observed as a black day and impressive sit in Dharna shall be held Maharaja Hari Singh statue Park besides all district headquarters to press for statehood.
Flanked by senior leaders Shri Raman Bhalla Working President, Mula Ram, Yogesh Sawhney, Ved Mahajan, Th Balbir Singh, Naresh Gupta, Manmohan Singh, Hari Singh Chib, Dina Nath Bhagat, Yash Pal Kundal & Neeraj Gupta, Karra said that a massive Outreach campaign shall be launched from 1st August to seek public support for statehood.
He said on 9th August, Quit India Day, the party shall launch day long hunger strike at both party headquarters till 20th August, the birth anniversary of Late Rajiv Gandhi ji.However 15th & 16th August have been exempted.
Karra said that first phase of statehood struggle "Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq " including Srinagar Chalo, Jammu Chalo and finally Delhi Chalo remained very successful with full support of our national leadership and it drew the focus of entire political spectrum in the country towards our legitimate demand for statehood.
Now the party shall further intensify the struggle in various democratic modes of protests, dharnas, hunger strikes, churahe- pe- Charch & mass contact programme in order to create pressure on BJP' government to fulfill the commitments to restore full statehood at the earliest.
Karra further said that a three days special session should be held shortly to apply pressure on the government for bringing legislation to restore full statehood.
JKPCC Chief also disclosed that he will be visiting Rajouri Poonch for three days from today to interact with people at Sunderbani, Rajouri and Poonch over the mission statehood besides he said that party has adopted some children on the directions of LOP Rahul Gandhi who are victim of Pak firing in Poonch. He would meet those families at Poonch besides also visiting Holy Budda Amarnath pilgrimage.
He said he had visited Budda Amarnath ji and Nangaali sahib in May & prayed for peace and brotherhood and safety of people.

To start Outreach campaign / churai pe charcha from Ist August till 5th August in cities and towns and other important localities, to approach different organizations and like minded forces groups, trade, business transport org etc.
5th August
Holding of mass sit in Dharanas at both capital cities Srinagar & Jammu as well as all districts across UT on August 5,2025 coinciding with sixth anniversary of downgrading of the historical J&K state.
As usual August 5,shall be observed black day and Sit in Dharna shall be observed at both cities and all Districts to press for restoration of statehood.
9th August
Om 9th August, Quit India Day shall be observed and a day long chain hunger strike in both capital cities till 20 th August with break on Independence day-15 th August & 16 th August.
On 20 th August,
The birthday of former Prime minister Shri Rajiv Gandhi shall be celebrated and a pledge to be taken to take this struggle to logical conclusion.
From 21 August
Day long Chain Hunger strike/ Dharna at district Districts shall be held, one after the other as per a schedule to be announced.
