| Saw mill owner booked for using stones in weighing | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 02- The Department of Legal Metrology today booked a saw mill owner namely Banarsi Dass Son of Menga Ram of Arnia village in Bishnah by using stones in selling wood and other items instead weighing machine as well as weigh stones from the last so many years. On the complaint of locals, the Legal Metrology Department has booked the defaulter under the provision of J&K Weights and Measures (Enf) Act, 1997. The defaulter was asked to attend the office of Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Samba for further necessary proceedings under the Act and appealed the other shopkeepers to not to use such type of stones in selling the goods and stern action will be taken against the violators of the Act.
