| Bhim writes to NSA, CEC for security | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 2- Panthers Party Chairman, Prof. Bhim Singh in a letter to M.K. Narayanan, National Security Advisor and Navin Chawla, the Chief Election Commissioner of India has sought their urgent intervention for providing reasonable security cover for the star campaigners of the Panthers Party in Baramulla-Kupwara Parliamentary Constituency where Mohammed. Iqbal Jan, presently lodged in Tihar Jail, Delhi has been fielded by the party for the Lok Sabha seat. Prof. Singh in his letter has demanded urgent security cover for his party leaders in Kashmir campaigning for the party candidate. They included Farooq Ahmed Dar, Provincial President, Kashmir, Syed Rafiq Shah, MLC, General Secretary, Masood Indrabi, Provincial Vice President, Manzoor Ahmed Naik, Provincial General Secretary, S. Daljit Singh, State Vice President and resident of Baramulla, Abdul Rashid Ganie, District President, Gandherbal, Maqbool Malik, District General Secretary-Baramulla, Jehangir Khan, District General Secretary and Nasreen Hamid, Media Advisor. Prof Singh also informed the NSA and the CEC about the coercion and threats used against the Panthers Party leaders by the State administration and the police to harass and demoralize them. He mentioned the names of some senior party leaders who were forced to quit Panthers Party and join NC at gun-point.
