| KPs flay Gupta’s statement | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 2- Taking strong exception to the National Conference Provincial President Rattan Lal Gupta’s statement that former state Governor Jagmohan engineered exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley, several Kashmiri Pandit leaders said that in fact it were Farooq Abdullah and Mufti Sayeed who were responsible for the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and the present plight. Addressing an election meeting held at Purkhoo camp in favour of BJP candidate Srinagar parliamentary constituency A.K. Pandita, BJP State Secretary Sardar Charanjit Singh Khalsa, ASKPC President A.N. Vaishnavi, BJP Migrant Cell President Hira Lal Chatta and J.L. Pandit Incharge election Anantnag have called upon the community members to exhibit their unity and vote for the BJP candidate. S Charanjit Singh Khalsa while addressing the meeting urged upon Kashmiri Pandits to remain united and reminded them the sacrifices of Guru Teg Bahadur for Kashmiri Pandits. He said Kashmiri Sikhs and Pandits were the worst sufferers as they have been thrown out of their homes and hearths. ASKPC President Vaishnavi asked the Kashmiri Pandits that they should not forget the benevolence of BJP and it is a great pride for Kashmiri Pandit community that the party has given mandate to a camp dweller. Hira Lal Chatta in a forceful speech accused the Congress led UPA government and state government for ‘treating us as second class citizens’. Describing the introduction of M-Form a cumbersome process, he said the main objective was to deprive the community from its fundamental rights. He urged upon the people to remain united for a long struggle for achieving our justified goals. A.K. Pandita the BJP candidate from Srinagar Parliamentary constituency requested voters to caste their votes in his favour and promised that he will be always at their disposal to serve them. J.L. Pandit reminded the people that BJP is rather only nationalistic party in the country which can save the country from external threat and insurgency. All the speakers condemned the brutal attack on Kashmiri Pandits on April 30 who were protesting against deletion of their names from the electoral rolls. Bhushan Lal Raina, Ramesh Manhori, Roshan Lal Thusso, Krishan Lal Khera and Bansi Lal Razdan were also present on the occasion.
