| JMC commissioner discusses issue with corporators | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 2: The municipal commissioner today discussed various issues with the corporators of ward No’s 20, 22, 46, 50, 53 and 54 relating to their wards at a meeting hold here today. Commissioner in the meeting urged upon the corporators for their co-operation and help to enable Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to deliver better civic services in their respective wards. During the meeting it was decided that the sanitation wing of the JMC will carry out collection of Rs 50/- per month from every house holder for collecting garbage from house to house. The meeting was told that the arrangements of accelerating the sanitation drive shall be extended to other wards also. Orders were also issued to concerned officers for clearing of drains and additional street lights etc. The corporators who took part in the meeting were corporators, Bansi Lal Gupta, Suresh Jamwal, Dwarika Nath Choudhary, Parveen Kumar Gupta, Subash Chander Verma and Santosh Mangotra. JMC also enclosed plot of land at Narwal belonging to corporation measuring five kanals and 18 marlas. The plot was acquired by the corporation on lease from Jammu Development Authority on payment. JMC which was launched drive against hoardings and lifting of stray animals today lifted animal from Janipur, Roopnagar, Bantalab, Palora, Shiv Chowk and Railway road and kept them at cattle ponds. To maintain quality of milk, 18 cans of milk were destroyed and fine was imposed on shopkeepers. A fine of Rs 900 were realized from meet seller selling meat without stamp.
