The championship featured participation from 12 countries, and Rinchen’s victory marks the first-ever Asian Championship gold medal in any sport from Ladakh — a milestone achievement that has filled the region with pride and joy.
The Ladakh Taekwondo Association extended its heartfelt congratulations to Rinchen Youdol for her outstanding achievement. President of the Association, Gulzar Hussain Munshi, expressed his sincere gratitude to India Taekwondo for providing consistent support to athletes from remote areas such as Bodh Kharbo, Kargil.
He remarked, “India Taekwondo has uplifted the level of the game by offering international exposure and has brought in a culture of accountability and performance.”
President Munshi also thanked Joint Director Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh, Mr. Tahir Hussain Zubdavi, for his continued support in nurturing local talent and providing timely assistance to athletes.
Special acknowledgement was given to coaches Zaheer Abbas Khan, Mohd Ali, Parveen Kumar, and Master Atul Pangotra, whose tireless efforts and mentorship played a pivotal role in Rinchen’s historic win.
In his message, Munshi added, “This gold medal is not just Rinchen’s achievement, but a proud moment for all of Ladakh. It has opened a new chapter in the sporting history of our region.”
He also extended thanks to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, MP Ladakh, Chairman/CEC LAHDC Kargil and Leh, and the Deputy Commissioner Kargil for their support towards the development of sports in the region.
This monumental achievement by Rinchen Youdol is expected to inspire a new generation of athletes from Ladakh to dream big and strive for excellence on the global stage.
