GDC Neeli Nallah organizes multifarious activities regarding Independence Day celebration | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Aug 2: GDC Neeli Nallah Udhampur marked the beginning of the Independence Day 2025 celebrations with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour by organizing a series of multifarious activities within the college campus. As part of the celebration, the college conducted a pledge taking ceremony, an Essay writing competition, a painting competition and a Swachhta Drive on campus, encouraging active participation from students across various streams. The activities were aimed at instilling a sense of nationalism, artistic expression, and environmental responsibility among the youth. The event started with pledge taking ceremony to uphold the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India. In Essay writing competition, students showcased their writing skills by penning insightful essays on themes related to India's Freedom struggle, National unity and the importance of democratic values. Rimjim Sharma of Sem 5th, Suhani Rajput of Sem 5th and Himani Bhagat of Sem 5th secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively. This was followed by Painting competition which witnessed vibrant and thought-provoking artworks, beautifully capturing the spirit of Independence and India's cultural richness. Ms. Nilakshi of Sem 5th, Ms. Ananya of Sem 3rd, Ms. Sabia Akhter of Sem 5th secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively. In alignment with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the Swachhta Drive mobilized students and staff members to clean and beautify the college premises, reinforcing the message of cleanliness and civic sense. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal appreciated the student's enthusiastic participation and emphasized the importance of such events in nurturing a sense of pride, discipline and social responsibility among the youth. She further encouraged students to carry forward the legacy of freedom fighters by contributing positively to society. The organizers of the event were Dr. Sunil Tanoch, Prof. Rekha Sharma and Prof. Shaista Yasmeen. The event concluded with refreshments served to the participants and the winners of various competitions will be felicitated during the formal Independence Day function on August 15, 2025. |
