| GDC Kalakote celebrates Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour | | | Early Times Report
KALAKTE, Aug 2: As a part of the 79?? Independence Day celebrations NSS unit of Govt. Degree College Kalakote, organised a series of intramural contests (National Anthem Singing and Painting Competition) under the guidance of worthy Principal of the college Prof. Mohd Farooq Mirza.
The National Anthem Singing Competition witnessed energetic participation from various students who showcased their vocal talent and national spirit. Among the participants, Ritu Kumari student of semester 5th emerged as the winner, securing the 1st position with her powerful and soulful rendition of the national anthem, which captivated the audience and impressed the judges.
In the Painting Competition (Theme: Portraits of Unsung Heroes of Indian Independence), students expressed their thoughts on themes related to independence, national unity, and cultural pride through vibrant and meaningful artwork. Palak Sukhwal student of semester 3rd displayed exceptional artistic skills and conceptual clarity, earning her the 1st position in the competition. The event was judged by Prof. Himanshu Kumar, Dr Mohd Ali Shahbaz, and Prof. Khalida Parveen, who evaluated the participants on various criteria including creativity, expression, presentation, and adherence to theme. Their fair and insightful judgment added value to the competitions. The Overall Competition was carried out by Prof Davinder Singh, NSS-PO. He stated in his inaugural session that the competitions not only provided a platform for students to express their talents but also instilled a deeper sense of patriotism and cultural appreciation among all attendees." |
