Early Times Report
VARANASI/LUCKNOW, Aug 2: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that through Operation Sindoor, the world has witnessed India's strength and power. New India has the strength to 'bury' Pahalgam's criminals and eliminate enemies even inside their own territory, he added.
The CM was addressing the inauguration/foundation stone laying ceremony held at Gram Sabha-Banauli (Kalika Dham), Sevapuri, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He welcomed and extended greetings to the Prime Minister in Kashi-his parliamentary constituency-during the auspicious month of Shravan, shortly after the successful completion of Operation Sindoor, at the sacred abode of Lord Shiva.
The CM said, "PM Modi is the most popular leader in the world. In the past 11 years, over 50 countries have honoured him with their highest civilian awards. The world respects his vision for public welfare and global good. In July, countries like Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Namibia, and Brazil bestowed on PM Modi their top civilian honours, making all 140 crore Indians proud."
CM Yogi said it's a matter of great pride that the Prime Minister represents the eternal city of Kashi in Parliament. He noted that PM Modi sees Kashi as the living embodiment of Sanatan values, radiating warmth across the world. In the past 11 years, Kashi has evolved into a unique fusion of tradition and modernity, drawing global attention. Remarkably, this is the first time a Prime Minister has visited his constituency 51 times.
The CM shared that projects worth ?51,000 crore have been approved for Varanasi over the years. Of these, projects worth ?34,000 crore have already been inaugurated by the Prime Minister, giving Kashi a new identity through a holistic development approach. Projects worth over ?16,000 crore are currently in various stages of progress. This time too, the Prime Minister is gifting his Kashi development projects worth ?2,200 crore, focused on connectivity, water supply, education, healthcare, sports infrastructure, and cultural revival.
CM Yogi said that Divyangjans are also playing a major role in building a strong and capable India. He noted that the word Divyang was given by Prime Minister Modi, and this thoughtful term has brought new hope and encouragement into their lives, giving them opportunities to grow in every field. On this occasion, thousands of Divyang citizens are also being given assistive devices through a special distribution program led by the Prime Minister.
Reflecting on the past, CM Yogi said that 11 years ago, many farmers were abandoning agriculture, some even driven to suicide, amid deep disillusionment. "But in the last 11 years, initiatives like the Soil Health Card, PM Crop Insurance, PM Irrigation Scheme, and enhanced seed-to-market support have built a robust ecosystem. Today, millions of farmers in Uttar Pradesh are actively contributing to the vision of a self-reliant, developed India," he said.
