JAMMU, Aug 4: Government College for Women, Bhagwati Nagar, successfully organized a one-day seminar on the Anti-Drug Campaign under the banner of IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) under the patronage of Principal of the college Dr. Naveen Anand. The event began with the welcome address by Prof Nisha Bhagat, HoD Sociology who formally welcomed the esteemed Resource person and other distinguished guests on the occasion.
The resource person of the seminar was Dr. Shamim Akhtar, Medical Officer, Primary Health Centre Bhagwati Nagar Jammu, who highlighted the growing concern of drug abuse among youth and emphasized collective responsibility in combating the menace. The seminar witnessed active participation from students and faculty members, focusing on awareness, prevention, and rehabilitation.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Kamal Deep Singh, HOD Punjabi, appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to become ambassadors of a drug-free society. He commended the efforts of the organizing team for arranging such an impactful event. The seminar was convened by Prof. Nusrat Kouser, Convenor of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at the college, who also delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the keynote speaker, staff, and participants for their valuable contributions, whereas the proceedings of the seminar were conducted by Dr. Poonam Kumari, HOD Dogri.
