AKHNOOR, Aug 4: The Department of Youth Services & Sports, Zone Akhnoor, organized Inter-School Zonal Level Selection Trials in Cricket for Under-19 Boys on 4th August 2025 at GHSS, Sohal, as part of its annual calendar of sports activities for the session 2025-26.
Around 50 young cricketers from various Government and Private schools of the zone showcased their talent and enthusiasm during the trials.
The event was held under the Chairmanship of Sukhdev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu, with overall supervision by Ashok Kumar, ZPEO Akhnoor. A panel of departmental experts-Jatinder Singh, Khadim Hussain, Rahul Dev Singh, and Suram Singh-oversaw the selection process.
Sushma Thakur, Principal, GHSS Sohal, attended the trials as Guest of Honour and extended a warm welcome to all guests and participants. She expressed her gratitude to the Department of Youth Services & Sports, Zone Akhnoor, for selecting GHSS Sohal as the venue.
ZPEO Akhnoor lauded the participation of students and emphasized the role of sports in shaping a healthy and disciplined lifestyle. He reiterated the department's commitment to promoting sports across all levels.
