Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 4: Under the inspiring leadership of Kunwarani Ritu Singh, Pro-Vice Chairperson of DPS Jammu, Nagbani, and Katra, nearly 150 students from these three premier institutions took part with great enthusiasm in the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme (VBYCP), organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, as part of the Viksit Bharat@2047 vision. The four-day programme, held from 31st July to 3rd August at the Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, aimed to promote youth engagement in civic responsibility, leadership development, and cultural awareness. Speaking on the occasion, Kunwarani Ritu Singh expressed her heartfelt thanks to Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu, for his exemplary support and gracious hospitality in hosting the VBYC programme. She stated that this collaboration between institutions truly empowers our youth and strengthens the path to Viksit Bharat. Students actively participated in a variety of academic, cultural, and sports activities focused on life skills, nation-building, and heritage pride. Highlights included motivational sessions on youth leadership and government welfare schemes, a heritage walk at the historic Mubarak Mandi complex, and an eco-awareness visit to the JU Botanical Garden. A proud moment for the schools came when students from DPS Jammu clinched First Position in the Quiz Competition on Viksit Bharat. The winning team-comprising Vaidik Taggar, Manaswin Mahajan, Manya Targotra, and Samanyu Sharma of Classes XI & XII-was felicitated by the Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha. The School Management, led by President-RCT M.K. Ajatshatru Singh, Pro-Vice Chairperson Kunwarani Dr. Ritu Singh, and Director/PVC S.S. Sodhi, along with the Principals and academic heads-Ruchi Chabra (DPS Jammu), Raj Kumar Verma (DPS Nagbani), Manikarnika Sharma and Simmi Sharma (DPS Katra)-congratulated all the winners, participants, and their parents for the outstanding display of talent and commitment.
