One day workers convention in Samba
8/4/2025 9:40:08 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 4: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh has asked Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and his cabinet colleagues to resign from the Govt as it failed to fulfil the pre-poll promises made by the National Conference with the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
"The NC formed a majority Govt with the support of Congress Party in J&K, and assured that they will fulfil all the promises made with the people of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. However, nothing happened," he said, speaking at a one day worker's convention.
The convention was organised by Vishal Nariana, Provincial President - Youth Wing of Apni Party at Rajpur Kolar in Samba.
In this convention, more than 700 leaders, and workers participated and more than 300 workers from different political parties joined the Apni Party in presence of S. Manjit Singh.
While welcoming the new entrants into the party folds, the Former Minister said that the joining of hundreds of workers from different political parties shows the desperation among the people and hope with the Apni Party.
"The people, particularly educated youth, are disappointed with the Govt as it failed to fill-up the vacancies by referring them to the recruitment agencies," said S. Manjit Singh.
He said that the people in J&K had hopes with the National Conference, but the ruling party exploited the emotions of the people converting them into a vote bank, and get majority to form the Govt with hollow slogans.
"After the formation of majority Govt, the NC as well as Congress Party has adopted the tactics as an opposition, and indulged into allegations, and counter-allegations with the BJP. It appears that the NC-Congress Party and BJP - all are doing politics to deviate the attention of the people from the failure of the Govt," he said, while recalling how the NC - Congress Party alliance failed on account of providing employment, holding mining mafia accountable, regularisation of daily wagers, addressing electricity concerns, promotion of the tourism sector to boost local economy etc.
Instead of providing governance to the people, he said that the NC is trying to convince people that the BJP is not allowing them to work freely, whereas the reality is opposite i.e., the NC has failed to perform.
"Same is the case with BJP. The BJP got majority assembly seats from Jammu region, and did nothing for Jammu, its tourism, hoteliers, businessmen, traders, tour-travellers, transporters, industrial sector, and unemployed youth," he recalled, calling upon the youth to come forward to strengthen the hands of the Apni Party.
He further said that the BJP has hands in gloves with the NC-Congress Party from the back door and hence, they support each other to survive before next assembly elections.
"If the claims of the NC are true, then it has no moral responsibility to continue to run the Govt. The Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah along with his cabinet colleagues shall resign from the Govt, and join hands with the Apni Party to fight on the roads for the rights of the people in Jammu and Kashmir i.e., restoration of statehood, employment for educated youth, and strengthening of economic status of the people," he said.
He also criticised Congress Party for holding symbolic protests for statehood to mislead the innocent people.
"It was the Apni Party that raised the demand of Statehood to J&K, employment and reservation of jobs in the industrial sector up to 90% for local youth across J&K," he said.
He appealed to the people of J&K to join Apni Party in large numbers, and strengthen the hands of the party that represents all the regions equally without any bias, and adopted an approach of holistic development and employment for all.
Prominent among those who spoke and present on the occasion include Provincial Vice President, Saleem Choudhary; Provincial Secretary / Incharge Trade Wing, Ajaz Kazmi; District President Jammu Rural-A, Pushp Dev Uppal; District President Samba, Raman Thapha; Provincial Jammu Spokesperson, Advocate Sahil Bharti; Provincial Secretary/Minority Wing, Balbir Singh Baba; Provincial Incharge Social Media, Vaibhav Mattoo; Provincial President Women Wing Jammu, Pavneet Kour; Senior Leader Bodh Raj Baghat; Senior Vice President District Jammu Urban, Neelam Gupta; Secretary District Jammu Urban, Sheekha Bhardwaj; Secretary District Jammu Urban, Yash Pal Chowdhary
