Early Times Report DARHAL, Aug 5: As part of the ongoing series of events commemorating the 79th Independence Day, Government Degree College (GDC) Darhal organized an Essay Writing Competition under the patronage of the Principal, Prof. Zamir Mirza. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students across various semesters, including active involvement from NSS volunteers. The competition focused on two significant themes: "Unsung Heroes of India's Freedom Struggle" and "Viksit Bharat @2047", aiming to inspire students to delve into the nation's rich historical legacy while envisioning a progressive future for India. In a closely contested competition, Saima Kouser and Saika Kouser jointly secured the first position, followed by Ashfaq Ahmed and Afsana Firdose in second place, and Nusrat Jabeen in third. The essays were evaluated by Dr. Mohd Saleem Wani, Head, Department of English, Dr. Ghulam Abass, Head, Department of Persian, Dr.Taseem Ahmed and Prof. Anzar Ahmed. The judges commended the participants for their creativity, patriotic fervor, and insightful perspectives. The event was coordinated by Dr. Mohd Akhlaq, NSS Programme Officer, whose efforts ensured the successful execution of the program. |
