Early Times Report MANDI GOBINDGARH, Aug 5: The Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages, in collaboration with the Faculty of Hotel Management and Tourism, DBU organized a Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled "Research Paradigm Shift in Social Sciences, Languages, Hotel Management, and Tourism". The program aimed to enhance participants' understanding of evolving research methodologies, theoretical frameworks, and epistemological approaches across interdisciplinary domains. Key themes included research paradigms such as positivism, interpretivism, constructivism, and critical theory, along with emerging trends in social sciences, hospitality, and tourism research. Topics like sustainability, experiential tourism, mixed methods, and ethical considerations were also explored. Distinguished speakers from various academic backgrounds shared their insights throughout the program. Professor (Dr.) Amarjit Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor (Academics), delivered the keynote address, setting the tone for the event. Dr. Ram Singh, Professor of History, offered valuable perspectives from the field of social sciences, while Dr. Rupinder Kaur, Associate Professor in Hotel Management, provided expertise from the hospitality sector. Ms. Nidhi Sharma, Assistant Professor in Psychology, presented interdisciplinary viewpoints, emphasizing the importance of integrative research approaches.
