| SAP Club, NSS Unit organizes Swachchta drive to promote cleanliness | | |  Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Aug 5: As part of the ongoing celebration of the 79th Independence Day, the SAP Club, in collaboration with the NSS Unit of the college, organized a Swachchta Drive in the college campus today under the overall guidance of the Principal Dr. Nalini Pathania. The initiative was aimed at fostering student engagement and strengthening community outreach while promoting the values of cleanliness and hygiene among students.
The cleanliness drive saw active participation from faculty members and students, who enthusiastically joined hands to clean various parts of the campus, spreading the message of a clean and healthy environment. The event was not only a symbolic gesture in honour of Independence Day but also a step towards instilling a sense of responsibility and ownership in students towards their surroundings.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Rachna Bharti, Convener of the SAP Club, highlighted the significance of such initiatives in educational institutions. She emphasized that, "The college campus is like a second home for students. Maintaining cleanliness here is not just a duty but a reflection of our character and values. Swachchta is not a one-day activity but a continuous habit that leads to better health, better learning, and better living."
The overall coordination of the drive was managed by Prof. Shama Rani, Programme Officer, NSS Unit. Several esteemed faculty members also took part in the drive, including Dr. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Dr. Om Prakash, Prof. Pooja Bharti, Prof. Yash Paul and Prof. Yash Kumar, who actively encouraged the students and led by example.
The Swachchta Drive concluded with a collective commitment from all participants to continue these efforts beyond the Independence Day celebrations and integrate cleanliness as a way of life. |
