JKSPYM SLCA organized a one-day awareness program | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 5: JKSPYM State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA) for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) and the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR), organized a one-day awareness program on "Drug Abuse Prevention" at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School, Kathua. The program witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 90 students. As part of the initiative, a Symposium Competition on the theme "Drug Abuse Prevention" was conducted, where students expressed their thoughts and ideas on combating drug abuse. Nitin, Rihaan and Manthan were the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners of the competition and were awarded for their performances. Experienced resource persons delivered sessions based on the "Navchetna" module, a comprehensive school-based intervention module designed to educate and empower adolescents. The sessions included interactive activities, group discussions, and practical demonstrations to engage students and enhance their understanding of the harmful effects of substance abuse. The school Principal Mr. Mangal Singh appreciated the efforts of the SLCA team and thanked them for organizing such an informative and engaging event for the students. The program concluded with the administration of the NMBA pledge, reinforcing the commitment of students and faculty towards a drug-free society. Program concluded with the vote of thanks and refreshment distribution to students. |
