Arrangements for 3-day Sankri Devta Mela, Kailash Kund Yatra reviewed | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Aug 5: Arrangements for the upcoming Kailash Kund Yatra and the three-day historic Baba Sankri Devta Mela, scheduled to commence on AUGUST 19 in Meer village, Block Panchari, were reviewed in a meeting held today. The meeting, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Prem Singh at the DC Office Complex, was attended by DDC Member Jasvir Singh, ACR Dr Umesh Shan, senior officers and mela committee members. Detailed discussions were held on security, sanitation, healthcare, transport, traffic management, water and power supply, and price monitoring. ADC Prem Singh stressed early coordination among all departments and encouraged mela committee members to participate actively. Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti and JPDCL were directed to ensure drinking water and uninterrupted power supply. The PMGSY Executive Engineer was assigned road maintenance. The Chief Medical Officer was instructed to deploy a medical team and ambulance. The District Youth Services and Sports Officer was tasked with organising sports events during the mela. District Police will deploy sufficient personnel and ARTO will provide bus services from various locations. Government departments will set up awareness stalls for public outreach. Tehsildar Panchari has been designated as the Mela Officer, while the Legal Metrology Department will monitor rates and consumable quality in coordination with other departments. |
